About

Lindsay became known as the Apricot Lady by blogging life adventures while living in the Middle East. Now back in Grand Rapids, MI, she is Owner and Marketeer @ Apricot Services. She still blogs occasionally, but is rather consumed with her client's blogs, books and projects nowadays.

What's up with the Apricots?

During our Middle Eastern adventures, we often heard an Arab proverb quoted: Bukra fe mish mish {Translation: Tomorrow there will be apricots.}

A very common proverb, it is quoted to people pining for what could be..
"Tomorrow your dreams will be realized."
"Tomorrow your ship will come in."
"Maybe tomorrow..."

But, what about today? We think the work toward accomplishing your goals today will lead to a pretty exciting tomorrow. Today is the day to publish, influence, splash, laugh, gather your tribe and make a change. Apricot Services is here to help you!
"Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection" {Mark Twain}
We'll take our apricots today! Alas, this simple, tasty fruit became a symbol and mantra, reminding us to focus on today. Hop over to the blog to read more.

Apricots Today Blog

I worked in the publishing world of corporate America for many years before we were transplanted from the Mid-West to the Middle East. During the 8 years we lived there, I started blogging {for therapy!} to capture all the hilarious situations we found ourselves in. You can read all our Middle Eastern mis-adventures by clicking on the Apricots Today Blog tab. Hope you enjoy a chuckle with me and get a picture of the delightful, beautifully different Arab culture that we had the privilege of living in everyday.

Now back in the States, we see how much of our life was truly changed by our overseas adventure. We were privileged to have a small glimpse into how 'the rest of the world' lives and it sure changed many perspectives of ours.

  1. Hello, I'm an expat living in Wadi Musa/Petra. I was wondering if you are able to provide me with any more information on the location of Abu Sheikh's toy shop in Aqaba. Kind Regards Andrea
